1st May 2018 – Launch of a giant project to build clinical trial infrastructure to facilitate the development of new medicines for children in Europe.
The conect4children (collaborative network for European clinical trials for children – c4c) is a 6-year project aiming to build a large research network of the children´s hospitals for developing medicines for children by using existing expertise, patient access and developing common processes for developing new therapies and the comparisons of existing therapies for children and adolescents. The consortium is a novel collaboration between academic and private sectors that includes 33 academic and 10 industry partners from 20 European countries, more than 50 third parties and around 500 affiliated partners. The total funding is 140 Million euro.
c4c will run several pediatric clinical trials across Europe, providing children and young people participation opportunities for the better treatment option in several different therapeutic areas.
In Finland, HUS and other University Hospitals (4) in Finland will take part to c4c trial conduction. FINPEDMED was able to join c4c project due to the good credit of the past 12-year operational history.
